In response to the importance of Standard Essential Patents. The European Economic Trade Office, Taiwan Intellectual Property Office, Industrial Technology Research Institute, European Business and Regulatory Cooperation program and the EUROPEAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TAIWAN organized the 2023 EU-Taiwan Seminar on Standard Essential Patents on 25th April, 2023 (Tue.) at the International Conference Hall, Tsai Lecture Hall, College of Law, NTU. The seminar was opened by Filip Grzegorzewski, Head of the European Economic and Trade Office and Dr. Cheng-Wei Liao, Director General, Intellectual Property Office. Speakers, including Anneli Andresson (DG TRADE, European Commission), Mr. Hu Zu-Shun (Director, Department of Planning , Fair Trade Commission), John Eastwood (Co-chair, ECCT Intellectual Property Rights Committee) and Mr. Lai En-Shang (Patent examiner, Patent Division 2, TIPO) shared the latest development of Standard Essential Patents & Its Relationship with Competition Law, Challenges Surrounding Standard Essential Patents brought by the interaction between SEPs and case studies. The event was attracted around 200 participants to join this seminar.
