About EBRC
The first EU Business and Regulatory Cooperation (EBRC) Program with Taiwan was launched in 2014 and concluded in 2018. Over the past four years, EBRC facilitated the dialogue and regulatory cooperation between the EU and Taiwan. By organising open events to the public it also helped to increase the understanding of the EU in Taiwan.
Building on the success of the program, the European Commission launched EBRC2, the second project of EBRC, to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation with Taiwan. The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has been selected to implement the service contract over the next three years.
EBRC2 aims to promote the EU's trade and economic interests in Taiwan and to work with key stakeholders in order to improve the business environment and regulatory scheme for business and investors. The new program will also focus on global challenges such as climate change, energy security or digitalization.
Under EBRC2 the following events and activities will be organised: conferences, workshops, seminars, business roundtables, business missions, exchange visits, publication of research papers, European Innovation Week, etc..
Moreover, outreach media events and a new dedicated website will help to promote the public knowledge of the EU in Taiwan.
The European Economic and Trade Office (EETO) is in charge of the project. EETO works closely with ITRI, EU Member States, European business in Taiwan, and third-country partners in co-hosting events.
